Forgotten Splatter Pollock – Base Collection
“Ever since the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center opened in 1988, the property, and the studio in particular, have inspired artists working in various genres,” says Helen A. Harrison, the museum’s director. “Alex Wolff’s imaginative responses to the studio floor add an expressive dimension that honors the evidence of Jackson Pollock’s singular creative process while taking it to a new level of visual dynamism.”

Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center
These 25 images were transformed from original photos taken by Alex M. Wolff at Pollock-Krasner House in East Hampton, NY August 2014. Wolff symmetricized many of the images, adding some semblance of order to the chaotic paint, shapes, and colors left behind on Jackson Pollock’s studio floor as Pollock created his action paintings, with some paint missing the canvasses. Pollock was very prolific, resulting in the mixing and overlaying of many of the color pallettes he used. Wolff used a proprietary process to transform the spills and splatters into new artworks, extending Pollock’s color esthetic to match his own.
